Dig a ditch
Going to make a way through, so that in the midst of where I am now, He is fixing my situation.
Jesus on the Cross, saying "Why God?", but He saw the bigger picture.
God wants you to know that the ressurection power that raised Jesus from the dead is working in your life too!
Stir us up - we are something and someone significant. Don't lay asleep anymore - time to wake up spiritually. Missing out on the life-giving power of God if we just think that we are who we are and won't change.
Meekness is power under control. Make sure you don't lose your temper, keep it under control.
Romans 15:13 - May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in beleiving that you may about in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The God of hope. Owns hope, his franchise. This God of hope, may He fill you with joy and peace. Like petrol tank. Going through this year, how full is your hope tank? Joy of The Lord is your strength. If there's little strength, where is your joy at? God stands here today, ready to fill us again with Joy. As we worship, God is beginning to fill us with joy and hope, peace.
When joy and peace are gone, really hard to hope. But God wants to fill us again.
OK to share where we're at, come to God regardless of where we think we're at. Stay away from church -> doesn't fill our joy or peace. Still feel dry. Church is the place where God will fill you.
"Joy is coming back". We know how to look happy in front of people, but it's more that God wants to fill us, and make our joy real.
Peace has been stolen from many. If enemy can rob our peace, then doubt and fear becomes closest ally, Builds anxiety, worry. All the time our joy and peace, hope and faith is depleted.
BUT - dig a ditch!
2 Kings 2. Story of Elijah and Elisha.
vs 1-8 Elijah leaving
1. Find the man of God
vs 8 Elijah took mantle (cloak) rolled it up and struck water and it divided. Extraordinary skyshow. Wherever Elijah goes, Elisha follows. When you find the man of God, that God has placed over you, don't leave. Here's the deal: God will bring you and elevate you into the place if you will serve. Man of God carries the anointing able to break the yoke/bondage. Call of God says "If you're going to wear the mantle, then it's about speaking, moving where God calls to go". God will hold us accountable for everything we do. If we step out from the man of God, issue of trust.
vs9-14. Asks for a double portion - ask for the anointing. Not so much about the person, it's about the anointing. Elijah does 7 major miracles, Elisha 14: prayer is answered. When God has placed a person in your world, not about them, but about you.
Dig a ditch.
Speaking to people in grief. Elisha watching Elijah get taken up. Asking: why? Grief. Stepping out from the training wheels, now the number 1. The last thing Elijah does is the first thing that Elisha does.
In the midst of your loss, that God's power is able to bring you through, to cross over and reach the other side - it won't hold you, keep you, separate you. God's power is able to deliver you from that. Begin to strike the water.
2 Kings 3:1-3. Backstory: three kings go to fight Moab.
2. Find your music in the situation you're in. Before the word of God comes, worship. vs15 musician comes then the hand of The Lord comes upon them. When you come to the aspect of worship, don't neglect it. Find worship in the midst of the situation. Let worship become evident in your world.
verse 15. Dig a ditch. It doesn't make sense to dig holes in a valley, even when we are tired and worn out, dry. "you shall not see wind or rain, but the ditches will be filled with water".
God knows our world, when we are in our valley all we want to do is rest. Facing stress, anxious, situation. God says "Get up and dig a ditch". The reason why God says that is so that He can fill it. If you don't make room for God, then He can't fill it.
Q: How can I do that? Find out what the word of God that says about this. Miracle needs us to be obedience in the midst of the situation. We can feel sorry for ourselves, but if we dig a ditch we give God a chance to move.
Your giving causes you to dig ditches in the valley of lack.
vs18. This is a simple matter in the eyes of The Lord.
God doesn't just take care of you. God going to defeat the enemy. Read on 2 Kings 3:18-. Dig a ditch, when dug, the next day the entire valley was filled with water. Even when we are sleeping, God is able to perform a meeting, so that when we wake up, it is filled.
The enemy sees this as weakness, but it is God's strength.
When peace rises, fear can't live there anymore.

Romans 15:13

13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. (ESV)

2 Kings 2:9-14

When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask what I shall do for you, before I am taken from you.” And Elisha said, “Please let there be a double portion of your spirit on me.” 10 And he said, “You have asked a hard thing; yet, if you see me as I am being taken from you, it shall be so for you, but if you do not see me, it shall not be so.” 11 And as they still went on and talked, behold, chariots of fire and horses of fire separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. 12 And Elisha saw it and he cried, “My father, my father! The chariots of Israel and its horsemen!” And he saw him no more.

Then he took hold of his own clothes and tore them in two pieces. 13 And he took up the cloak of Elijah that had fallen from him and went back and stood on the bank of the Jordan. 14 Then he took the cloak of Elijah that had fallen from him and struck the water, saying, “Where is the Lord, the God of Elijah?” And when he had struck the water, the water was parted to the one side and to the other, and Elisha went over. (ESV)

2 Kings 3:13-18

13 And Elisha said to the king of Israel, “What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father and to the prophets of your mother.” But the king of Israel said to him, “No; it is the Lord who has called these three kings to give them into the hand of Moab.” 14 And Elisha said, “As the Lord of hosts lives, before whom I stand, were it not that I have regard for Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would neither look at you nor see you. 15 But now bring me a musician.” And when the musician played, the hand of the Lord came upon him. 16 And he said, “Thus says the Lord, ‘I will make this dry streambed full of pools.’ 17 For thus says the Lord, ‘You shall not see wind or rain, but that streambed shall be filled with water, so that you shall drink, you, your livestock, and your animals.’ 18 This is a light thing in the sight of the Lord. He will also give the Moabites into your hand, (ESV)
