Clinton Phillips, December 15, 2013
Part of the Sunday series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Recap last sunday. Encounter us. Wilderness is for your encounter with God. God is challenging us to place more priority on our relationship with God - do His process, not our process. God is generous and kind, but He is calling us to a higher calling.
Today: The Lampstand Ex 25:31-40. Revelation, Illumination, Burning continually. In the Holy Place, there is no light, only from the lampstand.
John 15:1-2. I am the vine you are the branches.
The number 7 completeness and finished. number 6 is the number for man. Lampstand - 6 branches on the outside, with the one in the middle - everything that we do has to come out of a place of connectedness with God who is the center.
God is about producing more fruit in our lives. Even then He trims us and prunes us, so we can produce more fruit. The menora was lit from the place of sacrifice.
You and I cannot cause the light to shine in our lives - we have to remain connected to the cross - it's the work of the cross that ignites me and motivates me. The cross is not just a piece of jewelry, but it is the power of God, the source of our life.
Take time in the presence of God.
Acts 2:3. Tongues of fire settled on people. Menora - tongues of fire. Little lights. That's why God says that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. That's why there such opposition against us. The enemy wants to put this light out.
Isa 11:2. God wants to fill us more than we think. When God speaks to us, we often tell him why he can't. Today, have an expectation that God will fill us.
The lampstand parallels the Holy Spirit: The spirit of The Lord, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of The Lord. Note that these are in pairs. The Holy Spirit is available to each and every one of us. The process is about each one of us. The Holy Spirit wants to teach us these things: wisdom and understanding, counsel and might, knowledge and the fear of The Lord.
This week - take time to spend time with God to learn these things. Let the Holy Spirit guide you how he wants to teach you these things. Make it like a really important date.
John 8:12. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.
Jer 1:11-12. "I am ready to perform my word". What do you see? This week, God will ask you this question - what do you see? When you feed that back to God, then He will engage you. The almond branch, the first one to bud and the first tree to fruit. God's priority, first fruit, first life. The word He has spoken over you He is ready to perform. No matter what is dead in your life, and there's been no fruit in your life, God is wanting you to know today, He is going to cause the fruit to come. A change of season. God is going to add fruit to that.
Rom 8:5 - we need to be the people who choose. We need to make a choice here, to live either for God, or for the flesh. If we focus on just what we want, it's going to make our christian walk so hard to do.
Rom 9:17. For this purpose I have raised you up, that I may show my power in you. Today.
