A resolution to bring a revolution A resolution to become more passionate with God in 2014.
86% of resolutions fail by Feb 1. Fail for a number of reasons, not because of good intentions. Don't set clear goals. eg not "lose weight", but "drop 5 kg by middle of year". Don't know how. Don't have the information to achieve their goals.

1.Motivation for being more passionate for God.
John 6:25-40. Main reason why - God is passionate about you! He is the one who is initiating and inviting us into relationship. A good idea or a God idea? A life set on seeking God, abandoned to the purposes of God. Because God is drawing us into relationship with us.
1 John 4:10. God loved us and sent his son.
James 4:1a. Come near to God and he will come near to you - that's an invitation. God wants to be more involved in your life, and is inviting us into deeper areas with Him.
John 10:10 I have come to give life and more abundantly. What he calls us into blows our mind. Greek work Zoe = life. Used in this context as "god infused life, life in it's fullest, to the maximum capacity life". More than just a religious experience
John 6:27. Don't be concerned about perishable things, but eternal things. Don't spend your energy on things that are not going to last, things that won't satisfy or fulfil you. Work and spend your energy on the things of eternal life.
What am I spending my thought life on? Where am I spending my attention?
Everyone the Father calls I will never reject. I am in a place where God can love me, regardless of the past. God has always loved you and is inviting you into deeper relationship.

2. How do we do this?
- Believe. John 6:29 believe in the one God sent.
- Calling of God on your life. Psalm 139:13-16. Knit together in my mother's womb. God formed you in a secret place. Without a vision in your life it will get very hard very quickly. If you have a vision, then you can walk with God and overcome hardship. Global call "come follow", but there is an individual call to each one of us. God has fashioned us for something. Bigger than we can ever hope or dream. Should excite you and scare you. Remember the call, why God has called you. God wants to download something tangible into our life. Something that excites you. Not cookie cutter, but hand crafted. Places on the inside of us a call. Adam was given a task to do in the garden, and we have work to do today. Waking up dead dreams.
Rom 12:2 be transformed. Sometimes we think that if we follow God, that we're going to miss out, but if we renew our mind, then we find that isn't the case. God has called greatness out of us. Sleeping giant, stirring up hunger for God to move. Begin to meditate on God's call on our life. Should drive us to a place of prayer.
Rom 4:16-20. God has called us to be a light in our world. He has something for us to do.
- Take the promises he has written in His word. eg Peace. Pickup a promise of God and pray it through, meditated on it. God is building muscle in you. God is developing in you perseverance.

3. Evaluate how you are going.
Daily be refuelled and refilled in God. Regular prayer and regular worship in your life. Have a regular prayer and worship life.
Have regular fellowship. Not lone wolf, but keep each other on track. Pray with one another. Fellowship is good.

John 6:25-40

25And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither? 26Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. 27Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. 28Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. 30They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work? 31Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. 32Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. 33For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. 34Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. 35And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. 36But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not. 37All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. 38For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. (KJV)

1 John 4:10

10Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. (KJV)

Psalm 139:13-16

13For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. 14I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. 15My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. (KJV)

Romans 12:2

2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (KJV)

Romans 4:16-20

16Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, 17(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. 18Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. 19And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: 20He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; (KJV)
