Introduction
Day of Pentecost, tongues of fire settled on each person there, spread all around the world. The power of the Holy Spirit impacting on people's lives all around the world. 8th June Pentecost Sunday.
The oil of faith.
2 Kings 4: 1-7. Miracle of the widow and the oil. Widow makes a complaint to the prophet. Double negative: my husband is dead, the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be slaves.
Put into context in our world today. There are seasons where we've been doing everything we know to do, giving everything we know to give, but something has been taken away. Elisha able to raise the dead. How can he allow a man to die and expose a family to a creditor. Sometimes and some seasons in our lives where we have had the gift of covering and blessing. All of a sudden, the thing that was precious to her is taken away.
There are some things in our world that are going to die, because he wants us to move onto other things. Takes away the first, so that he can establish the second. If God does not take it away from you, then you will hold onto your first. If you don't lose the first, you wont get the second. Some things have to go in order for God to do something new.
The creditor's coming: when the enemy convinces you that you are a loser. You have a debt, you can't pay it, you're about to lose it. The devil is worried about your harvest, about your fruit. Two sons = harvest. So, he wants you to think you're a loser, in order to hold onto your harvest. God is the God of harvest. Not the harvest is coming - the harvest is here! Believing for your harvest, trusting for your harvest. Winter is over, and now it's harvest time, and the creditor that is trying to make us feel like a loser will not have his way!
Started out as a double negative, but Holy Spirit turns it around. Prophet asks two questions: what do you want me to do? What do you have in the house. Doesn't give a chance to answer the first question. Don't answer based on your need. Second question: what do you have in the house? Nothing but a jar of oil. If we don't have the presence of God, we have nothing. Oil = presence of God. What do you have in your life? Then the Holy Spirit says get all the vessels you can, so they can be filled. Then sell the jars = global harvest.
Jer 1:9,10. God says I put my words in your mouth. Power of God today. Put you over the nations. If God appoints, no man can disappoint
Numbers 14:24-25
Holy Spirit example. Pours out Holy Spirit into our lives. I've got nothing except God in me! God needs a jar to put oil in. Doesn't matter if the jar is chipped, or gone through hell or high water, God needs these broken vessels to pour his Spirit into! Then each jar needs to take what they're full of, and pour into something that's empty. If you keep pouring, you'll never run empty.
The spirit of faith is to believe what God has spoken into our lives.

2 Kings 4:1-7

1Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen. 2And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil. 3Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few. 4And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full. 5So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out. 6And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed. 7Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest. (KJV)

Jeremiah 1:9-10

9Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. 10See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant. (KJV)

Numbers 14:24-25

24But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it. 25(Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwelt in the valley.) To morrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea. (KJV)
