Part of the New Beginnings series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Making your ordinary life extraordinary.
Definition: Ordinary = normal. Extraordinary = remarkable.
Skye's training and qualifications: youth worker. Story of girl at Teen Challenge. Live your normal everyday life with God serving God. Not in major ways, just your every day life. When you do that you'll touch lives that you won't even remember doing. You may never get the recognition, but that's not what it's about.
PC spoke about the woman at the well. Spoke into this woman's life. Jesus didn't raise someone from the dead in front of her, just spoke into her life.
Col 1:10. Live a life worthy of the Lord. It's about pleasing God in everything we do. Sometimes easier said than done.
Need to be a "people person". It's like we have these plane ticket - how easily we'd hand them out to our friends and say "come on a journey with me", but yet we have this ticket to heaven, and we don't share it with others!
Life isn't always easy - was it supposed to be this hard? When life gets tough, you have to just keep going. Make a choice, and say even when life is hard, choose to keep moving. Keep speaking into people's lives. We have this hope in Jesus
Rom 5:1-5. we know that suffering produces perseverance ... our hope does not put us to shame. God has poured out his love into our hearts. We have that love to pour out to other people, his love and his eternity. Even when life isn't all it's cracked up to be, we still have this extraordinary thing inside us.
Marriage is extraordinary, but doesn't always feel it! It's still extraordinary to be married! We are the same people, our DNA is the same, but being married changes us! The Holy Spirit is still more remarkable than that - we are the same, but the Spirit changes us from the inside.
Acts 2:17-21 I will pour out my Spirit in those days and they will prophesy.
Elton story about finger. Used a small thing (healing finger) to raise your faith.
Matt 17:20. If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, ... nothing will be impossible to you. That story of faith may be enough to tip someone else over the edge into belief. God does these things to showcase who he is.
1 Cor 12:7. Spiritual Gifts. Holy Spirit given to us for the common good. If the Holy Spirit is in you, then you will be extraordinary. Wouldn't be helpful to speak to a collegue in tongues - doesn't mean that the Holy Spirit isn't within you.
