Part of the Invitation series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Say what you need to say, or don't say anything at all.
Rom 11:36 "Everything comes from Him ... and is intended for His glory". If you want to know why, this scripture gives you the answer, the shortcut for everything I say today. As a result of what we have done, God has received glory. Youth, love langford, picking up rubbish ... gives glory to God. You exist for the glory of God - that is your purpose. You exist for God to receive glory and honour and praise. If you do that, then you won't get caught up with the stuff around you!
Luke 1:5-7. The story of Zecariah. God is leading us beyond what we do and know now. Oceans song. Part of God's word to us over this season is "Fear Not". We don't fear because God is with me. When God says "Fear Not", this is an invitation to a place where He wants to reveal something to you. Story of Joesph, story of David. David facing different levels of fear - as a shepherd; when he faced Goliath. Fear had gripped the army, paralysed them. As he faced his fear, strength came into him. As I face my fear, God gives me strength, so when I face my giant I am not intimidated by it. Not about willpower. Need to confess the word of God, the name of God. Take your fear and look at it, but don't let it become your focus. "God I am going to face my fear, and I am not going to give up! God you're with me!" The gift of God is not that there isn't going to be any fear, but that you can walk through that fear.
Proverbs 18:21 - Death and Life are in the power of the tongue. The gift God wants to give us is the ability to speak into our world. Your words form your world, that's why God says "Say what you need to say, or say nothing at all". Story of Zacariah - angelic prophecy.
Matthew 12:34
