Yosua Susetya - 9th June 2019 ()

Yosua Susetya, June 9, 2019
Part of the Sit Walk Stand series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

There is nothing impossible with God. Nothing impossible for those who believe in Him.
2 Peter We can take the nature of God through the promises of God. If we believe, that foundation is put in our hearts and lives.
Our God is the supernatural God. God always operates in the now. You might think he postpones to the future, but God always operates in the now. Hebrews 1 - “Faith IS”, not “Faith was”.
Matt 4:4 Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. “Comes” -> present tense. Every day, every moment, God is speaking.
When you study the bible, you’ll see a common theme about how God operates. He always sends His word. Eg Genesis 1:1-3 “and God said”. God spoke TO the circumstances, instead of ABOUT the circumstances. Imagine if God said “Oh my, how dark it is”, instead of “Let there be light!” God is living in the invisible realm, when he speaks, he moves things from the invisible to the visible realm.
Psalms 138:2 You have magnified your name and word above all things. We trust God, we trust what we said.
Psalm 33:4. The word of the Lord is right and true. By the word of the Lord the heavens were made. Every time God speaks, something happens.
1 Kings 17:7,8. Elijah and the widow. No rain for 3.5 years. The word of the Lord came to him. Before God wants to provide, he will send his word. “Word of the Lord” is a person - Jesus!
Vs 16. Flour and oil never running out. This is the power of the word of God. The natural law bows down to the law of heaven.
We know God, he is the supernatural God, can do impossible things. The question is: do you know who you are in Christ, and who God is for you? This is about identity. You are sons and daughters of God.
John 1:12. All who received, he gave the right to become children of God.
1 John 5:1 Everyone who believes Jesus is the Christ is born of God. Everyone who loves the father loves his son as well.
1 John 4:17. Love is made complete among us, because in this word we are like him. “As He is, so are we in this world”. We are sons and daughters of God. We can call God, Father.
God is powerful, God is supernatural, and we are sons and daughters of God.
Example: Yosua’s dad. Walks like he walks, Talks like he talks. Because he has spent his life together with him. God is our Father, and he shows us how he operates through his word. The Son can do nothing by himself, but what he sees the Father doing.
2 Cor 4:13. Since we have the same spirit of faith ... we also believe, therefore speak. God is the god of faith. He doesn’t speak about the circumstances, and the circumstances changed. Now we as the children of God need to do the same thing. Speak the word.
Rom 4:17. He calls those things that are not, as though they were. He spoke those things. Just like Genesis, let there be light, and there was.
Mark 11:22-24. Have faith in God. Don’t have faith in our faith. What’s the difference? Eg “Will you pray for X, no I don’t have enough faith in that”. Do you believe God can heal? Yes! That is faith in God, that is enough. There has to be a believing part inside.
2 Cor 4:13 - Before we speak, there has to be a belief in our heart. How can be believe God? There is no other way, except spending time with him. Sit at the foot of Jesus. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the world of God. Spend time with God!
He who believes in me, as the word says, out of his heart flows rivers of life. He didn’t say “he who believes, as the dream says”, but “as the word says”. God put importance into meditating on the word.
John 6:29. This is the work of God, to believe in the one he has sent. This is the work that God wants - believe in the one he sent. eg. Elton can take a great photo, amazing result. But if I tell him how to take the photo, his capability is limited by my unbelief. When we believe God, we believe his word. If God says “I can heal you”, our job is to trust the word of God.
