Part of the Faith series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Testimony - Yosua & Tristan.
Sickle, harvest. There is a season right now, that if we put the sickle in, we would see a harvest.
Clapping - act of war, act of praise, agreeing with the Word of God. God sends his word out, and it will not return empty, but accomplish everything He says. It doesn’t matter who’s speaking, but rather God brings the message.
Recap: last week - drop the net. Get the word, be obedient to that. Prayer that the gap between the word of God and my obedience gets smaller.
Heb 11:1 Faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen. (TPT) What is the evidence that you have, that you are a Christian? If you were arrested for being a Christian, what would be their evidence?
Richard Green pastor C3 Ryde church. Church planting in Pakistan, Iran. God wants us to step out. God asks - “will you trust me?” Will you tell the world that God loves them and came to set them free?
Faith is not built by our stories, but by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
Video: Richard Dawkins on faith (atheist). People justify their actions because of their faith. They can do whatever, because they believe that it is right. Faith is foolish and unreasonable.
What is the evidence of your faith? Every human being exercises faith. Today show biblical view on faith.
*Faith is the substance*. Something that exists. Faith is like matter - it exists, it’s something you can grab onto. In your personal faith, is it something you can grab onto it? Something tangible? Biblical characters grabbed onto faith like something real.
Everyone has hope, but faith is not hope. Faith is exercised in such a way that things exist that we can grab hold of them, but they are invisible things. Tangible things we have faith in: table, chairs. No problem. Scripture says don’t have faith in tangible things, but things unseen.
2 Cor 4:18. We fix our eyes on things unseen. If you’re going to be a person of faith, don’t focus on what you can see. Focus on the unseen, because that is eternal.
Breathe in - can’t see air. Move hand - you can feel air. Whatever we can’t see doesn’t mean it’s not there. We can breathe in air, there’s evidence. In the same way, there’s substance in faith. Stars and planets. We don’t see the mechanics of it but we know they’re there.
When God speaks, focus on what you can’t see. He’s asking for our trust. When we see disease, do we see the disease or the God who is able to heal? God loves people, and is reaching out for them. Coming a time of judgement, but leave it up to God. Trust God to do that. If we begin to open eyes of faith, God you are bigger than this. Can’t see healing, but we have evidence. Accessed through faith - NOW faith. Believing that it’s there, and bringing it into the here and now.
God - I trust you like you’re telling the truth. I’m coming here and I’m applying faith. Keep on going and applying.
2 Cor 5:7 - we walk by faith and not by sight.
Substance - in the greek: supporting structure. Faith is a supporting structure, pillar, reality, confidence, foundation, existence, hope.
We’ve all been given a measure of faith.
Acts 17:16 Paul in Athens.
Vs 23 Altar to the unknown God.
Vs 24 God who made heaven and earth, doesn’t live in buildings made by human hands. He gives all men life and breath and everything else. This is the God we’re guilty of believing in.
The heart of God is not by accident or coincidence. God did this so men would seek him. We are the outworking of this.
The God we believe in was not created. “In the beginning, God.”
In the past God overlooked such ignorance.
Vs 31 Given proof - God raised Jesus from the dead.
